Methow Valley Balloon Rides take off Location

Our “Balloon port” is located at the Winthrop Inn approximately one mile south of downtown Winthrop. Our field is directly behind the Inn and next door to the Red Apple Grocery and Ace Hardware. The address is 960 Hwy 20, Winthrop.

From Mazama: Take “State Highway 20 East” towards Winthrop for about 15 miles. At the 4 way stop in downtown Winthrop turn right, continuing on “State Highway 20 East”. Go a half mile and cross the steel bridge. Continue on highway 20 for another half mile. The Winthrop Inn will be on your left. Allow approximately 20 minutes driving time.

From Sun Mountain Lodge: Take Patterson Lake Rd. down from the lodge for about six miles. You will come to a stop sign at the intersection of Twin Lakes Rd. There will be a sign “Winthrop 3 miles”. Turn left. After you come into the town limits you will come to another stop sign at the intersection of State Highway 20. Turn right (don’t cross the bridge). Go for one half mile. The Winthrop Inn will be on your left. Allow approximately 20 minutes driving time.

From Twisp: Take “State highway 20 west” towards Winthrop. Go about 8 miles. When you reach the town limits you will pass the KOA campground. Approximately one quarter mile further is the Winthrop Inn on your right. Allow 15 minutes driving time.
